Another one…

Wow.. 17 of these already?

At what point do they stop growing so fast? Here he is at 17 years old and got himself a real live job (part time), not to mention he is already asking about what he needs to do in order to get his drivers license *faint* and soon he will be bringing girls home which I will obviously need to frown upon and remind him how none of them are good enough for him. Heaven forbid how I will collapse in agony at the thought of him moving out!!.. oh goodness!

17 extremely entertaining years we have shared together already and I am nervous of how many more of them he will so easily want to spend with  his mom at his side.. Is it wrong of me to want to keep him a small nunu for as long as possible???!?

Sometimes when I look at him, I see my 6 year old munchkin standing at the kitchen door with a panicked look on his face because the rooster is chasing him yet again. I see that vulnerable sweet boy who needs his mom to go out there and chase the rooster away so he can go outside and play…

Every time I look at him, I see Love..

So here I am putting the finishing touches on his birthday cupcakes so that I can wake him with his customary birthday morning bed cuddle and *chocolate cake.  And there we will lay for a few moments just loving each other before the rat race of life comes screaming in, forcing us up, reminding us of the time that is galloping full steam ahead.. the ol bugger of time waiting for no one.

Stay sweet, my little boy. You may be taller than me, you may even be faster than me.. but you will always be my little boy fulled with love, needing protection, making my world turn round and round and round and round….
