My youngest son comes home from school and announces that he no longer wants to listen to The Beatles, and that Hannah Montana has turned evil… O_o!?!?
“Why not?” I asked him. He then proceeded to tell me how he was taught at school today about the evil in music and that track number 9 of the beatles when played backwards “Hails to Satan”… AND.JUST.LIKE.THAT.I.LOST.MY.TEMPER!!!!

Is this the curriculum that has been set out for Grade 7 students this year? WTF is wrong with this teacher who feels entitled to spread such bullshit to impressionable kids?
I phoned her, and she informed me that this is an exercise to educate the children on the influence of media and how not all of it is good and to watch out for the evil.
Well, I fucking lost it with her. Told her that I want a meeting with herself and the Principal on Tuesday and we will then discuss her stupidity there.
I may need to string one of these around her neck when I see her on Tuesday..

And who cares about Hannah Montana’s personal beliefs and or bullshit. And I don’t care whether Lady Gaga has a bigger dick than her brother. What I care about is a teacher who feels it her duty to educate my son using the latest copy of PEOPLE magazine as a handbook…

Quote the constitution to her. Quote the National Curriculum Statement to her. If your kid is at a govt school, by law it is a secular space. Tell her if she doesn’t understand the professional code of conduct for educators you’ll send it to her. And tell her if she doesn’t learn what her job is and keep her superstitious crap away from your kid’s perfect mind, you’ll sue her fucking ass.

Wow, how did your meeting go? I feel so strongly about this – because even if it were all true, and you could hear Satan himself on any music played backwards, we need to protect our kids from even knowing about it. And to think for themselves – just because I listen to AC/DC it does not make me a Satanist. It makes (actually made, I was way younger then) me someone who enjoys music. Period. Argh, stupid teachers… Now I’m all angry on your behalf. Give her a what-for and tell us all about it.
Also curious to know the outcome. I’m a metal-head so you can only imagine what people have to say about the music I listen to.

Well done… I applaud you. I would not have been able to stay so calm. Personally I think “religous studies” should not be done in primary schools. I am an non-religious person, and don’t appreciate people trying to push their beliefs onto my child. When he is old enough to work things out for himself, he can decide on a religion. This teacher should be suspended for her shocking attitude. Is she still living in the dark ages?? Move on bitch! As a wise man once said – Live in the Now.
