Nothing can be done..
I live in South Africa, we have beautiful weather, beautiful people and the most beautiful countryside.
Unfortunately we also have crap service and seriously crappy attitude in the workplace..particularly the customer service section.
I am in the middle of a telecommunication nightmare with both Telkom & Vodacom. And in one instance was laughed at on the phone by a customer service agent of Telkom telling me not to phone back till the following week for a progress update as nothing is going to happen soon.
Here is a small info graphic of what is going on:

So as you can see things are dismal but I refuse to allow it to get me down. As my BFF said this morning:
“If you want to see the rainbow, you have to walk through the rain…”
So walk through the rain I will, and I am.
Just wish I could remember where my umbrella is
Stay Fabulous People!!!

Dear Briget,
I know exactly what you mean! Our country is super awesome, but it’s own people ruin our reputations! So we are all tarred with the same brush of laziness and horrible customer service.
I think your BFF’s comment is so true. I have recently and am in the process of learning that life is all in the perspective.
Good luck with Telkom!
Shirls
I also live on the bluff and we have always had excellent service from telkom, whether it be a fault or when we wanted an ADSL line, everything was done very quick, I find it so strange everyone complains about telkom, and with our work account if we have a fault it is always sorted out the very same day, every time. I dont know why but thats how it is, I love Telkom and am very happy I always get excellent service.
@chantal – o_O!! would you mind sending me some of your superpowers then?? If you saw my InfoGraphic you will see Telkom is only 50% of the nightmare… Have you got any pull with Vodacom too too?? I pay in chocolate cake and I will let you play with my Zombie Killing Deathray

@Shirley –
I love my BFF, she is always super wise and awesome !
Oh my gosh…chantal…what kind of make-believe world do you live in…thinking that telkom has great service!?!
Go to hellopeter.com and tell it to the 1802 people that had the most horrible service experiences in 2010 alone…and that’s not even counting all the thousands of people who don’t complain on hello peter!!
There’s a reason people call it “Hellkom” and “Melkhom”. They have given me the crapiest service that I have ever gotten in my life, and i’m 53. And they don’t give a shit, since they have monopoly over telephone lines..if you want one you gotta use them, so they don’t NEED to give good service to get clients, the bastards…
Excuse me S, but if you read my comment you’d see I don’t live in a make believe world, it is reality, every time I have had a faulty line or requested service with ISDN and ADSL, Telkom have responded extremely promptly. Never ever had a problem. So it is reality, not everyone’s reality but mine, I find your response to my comment unnecessary. Just because you have had bad experiences doesn’t mean other people don’t receive great service. I just wanted to let it be known that sometimes they are good, and funnily enough it happens every time with me, true story: last week I lodged a fault, 2 hours later the technician arrived and sorted it out, so there!
Chantal – I am glad that at least someone is getting great service from them
Even a broken watch is right twice a day.
They made me wait 3 months for a router!!!
I complain about the lack of customer service on a regular basis!
People simply not responding when you inquire about sending business their way is common place and infuriating!
.-= Angel´s last blog ..Custody Agreements… =-.
An update on the insanity.. Telkom made an administration error on my ISDN line at my Old premises (home office) and thought I wanted the line cancelled not fixed.
So they cancelled it…
On the other hand.. the new line has finally been installed at the New office!!
Yaayy!!
