900 kays +- in two days..
This is not a distance you want to travel when your average speed is 60kmph… So why did I do it? Why did I agree to travel with 5 dogs in the back seat for five and a half hours and a further 4 and a half hours bouncing in a truck? Because I love Jo & Andy and they asked us to help them make the long move from EmPONGeni to Newcastle.. And let me tell you! Even though it was a long and slow journey it was fabulous! The scenery was breathtaking and I tried to snap as many photo’s as I could along the way. I will try not to bore you with the details too much but here is what I did this weekend Day One (Saturday): We had arrived at Empongeni the night before so we could get an early start to the day. Jo and I took the two smaller puppies for their...

Loving you..
Mom, today you would have been a stunning 21 year old (with 45 years experience), making others jealous with your bright smile, generous heart and naughty giggle. I woke up this morning remembering how much you loved your birthdays and how it didn’t matter if it was a handmade broken claypot or the most expensive perfume, you loved it all. Today is not so much of a sad day than a day of remembering your birthdays you shared with us fulled with smiles and your over abundant love. I just wanted you to know that I am still thinking of you, remembering you and holding your love in my heart forever. Happy Happy Happy Day of Birth Mommy.. Love you Always, Briggie 1 person likes this...
Going Nowhere…slowly
On my drive back home from EmPONGeni last night I made a decision… well it was more like a yearning but you hear me.. I wanted to just keep driving.. slowly.. with no destination except that I will just keep going. Discover new places, meet new people, learn new things. A year is all I need (I hope) and in that time I want to have covered the expanse of South Africa before moving over the sea.. Now, this might not mean much to most people but if you know me your jaw will be hanging in shock because you realise just what a big deal this is for me. I don’t travel.. ever. Have never even been to slaapstad.. hardly left the KZN border, in fact. Travel scares me mostly and as I am a person driven by fearful thoughts, contantly panicking over everything,...
Day of Fathers..
Yesterday was Father’s Day.. and even though my Daddy is no longer with me, I send hugs and kisses to him all the same. So while doing the “I love you daddy because you were strong & made my mommy smile and and and..” speech he interrupted me with one of his favourite sayings. If any of us made the mistake of asking when it is mother’s day he would promptly respond ” Mother’s Day is 9 months after Father’s Day…” … this statement confused me for several years LOL! My Dad.. the naughty Irishman that still manages to make me giggle Hope all the daddy’s out there where lavished with hugs, giggles and tickles yesterday as much as I used to lavish on my daddy.. MWAH MWAH...
