I normally give everyone a funny friday and then get set out to finish off the weeks work and get ready to chillax as I normally do Friday evenings. I love doing nothing on Friday evenings.. I hate making plans for this one night normally because I am just wanting some alone time with my favourite guys…

But today is different, today I will not only give you a Funny for Friday —>

But I will also include some interesting and possibly helpful information aswell!

As many of you may or may not know I used to be exclusively in the PC Repair/Networking and Sales Industry up until 3 or 4 years ago and owned a little shop which also housed a little internet cafe in it here in Durban. And being in that industry you learn a few things, techniques that make the job easier, which on its own are simple yet effective tool of the trade so to speak.

Anyway, I remember one particular trick I learnt in the early years of troubleshooting when I was working from a garage with the GreekBoy and we were tinkering with the idea of doing PC repairs for money instead of mahala together (aka back in the day).There it was, on the bench – It was an old P2 that just wouldn’t start up. Everything was tested -  the power supply, the ram, CPU, drives, IDE cables and it still wouldn’t power up. So all that was left was the board.. and back then a board was expensive but yet still repairable so we took the board off.. checked the tracks for any obvious damage.. eyeballed the capacitors to see if any had popped and reseated any chips that we felt were  maybe a little wobbly Finally reconnected everything and still. NADA.

We were about to say our final words and call the guy and give him the bad news when I suggested we try one more thing. I promptly leant over, and told Greekboy to discharge the board again but this time to remove the CMOS battery when doing so.

After a few minutes, we crossed our fingers and pushed the power on and were rewarded with the sweet sound of the PSU fan and the POST bleep! IT worked! We were champions! We were going to take over the world.. One CMOS battery at a frikken time!

It was a random day in April.. and from that day onwards, it was fondly referred to as the “April Special”.

So when in doubt – pull the battery out

I had no idea how often I use the letter *z*. Until now..

My keyboard is messing with its longevity and wants me to organise a keybeating spree with the rest of the qwerty.

So how do I type with no *z*?!?!?!?!

I have it in my clipboard and CRTL+V when I need it. Until I replace the *z*  in the clipboard with something else (like a 5 page document outlining our terms and conditions that I am working on) and then I scream as instead of a *z* appearing the 5pg  doc appears.. frukkit!

And its not always like this.. No, only when I least expect it. Let me lose my rag and go about ordering a new one to replace it and then it will start working again like nothing is wrong.

Why must the *z* taunt me so??

They will look for negativity in EVERYTHING. They will blame everyone and everything on someone/something else.

They will tell everyone who is willing to listen about how others have influenced their downfall in life instead of assessing a situation and working towards a positive solution. They will expect others to do most things for them as they are incapable /unwilling to do anything for themselves. But will then turn around complaining about how they HAVE to do everything and if they don’t do anything NOTHING gets done.

Responsibility lies with everyone else. They will never accept responsibility for themselves or their situation.

And I have no time for this self pitying bullshit. Grow the fuck up man! You are not a child, stop behaving like one.

I am not the reason you are miserable, you are. And you know what…if you continue to attack me for no reason at all and persist on blaming me for your situation I may just lose my temper with you completely and vote you off this island.

I know you are probably reading this and this time you will be correct in your accusation… this time it is about you. So print it out, read it a few more times(please). Fully swallow the extent of your miserable behaviour and know that if you continue your self pitying bullshit, you will continue to be alone and unhappy.

Honestly, I don’t know if you have the ability to change – but if you do, I suggest you try really fucken hard. For your sake more than for anything else…

Nerdmag is running The Nerdies Competition again this year.. And people are nominated according to their nerdfactor (ehem, popularity contest for nerds). It is a complicated procedure of nominations, voting and auctions .. the rules are unimportant but one thing is clear.. I want IN!

Nominations are now open.. and the skanking is in full force!!

And I am not above the odd skank here and there..this is why I demand EVERYONE get over there and nominate so that I can feel the love… (please, pretty please.. stolen cherries on top?)

Getting Married, it would seem everyone is doing it. Very weird as well because at my age I have already gone through the baby boom and wedding bells with all my friends but with the advent of divorce and *complicated* relationships the wedding bug is hitting everyone hard once again.( I am not even going to mention how many pregnant fairies I know..LOL)

I have been asked many times if this is something I would do again and to be quite honest I don’t know. I was never really asked the first time around and that was a disastrous relationship even before it began and being married made it a difficult one to leave. Something about marriage makes people want to beat a dead horse even if its lame.. My marriage was a lame horse from the start but there I was dragging it around with me in the hopes that it would miraculously get up and ride off with me  into the sunset like one of those Mills n Boon’s novels my mom read ad nauseum.

You see being a girl we all want the Fairytale Prince Charming to sweep us off our feet and live “Happily Ever After..” But this is real life and horses scare me and If some guy approached me with one of my shoes I will ask him WTF he is doing with my shoe and kick him in the nuts..

So I have been accused of being slightly jaded and even though I don’t agree and feel that they are confusing jaded behaviour with that of a cautious manner, I don’t see how I can be faulted for feeling that way (if I was indeed jaded and I am not admitting to anything just yet).

I am a difficult person but with simple needs. And marriage is not the be all and end of all of my life. Honestly now guys, not being married does not mean I will burn in hell for all eternity for dipping into extra-curricular with SexyG nor does it mean I am less of a person for being single.. It just means that I am not married.  Do I want to be loved!?, Yes – but do I want to be married just because its the next step?!, No.

My sister once told me that she doesn’t condone sex before marriage, and feels that I am giving my milk away for free.(She said all this with love you see) I then had to explain to her how since we are likening me to livestock I would like to point out that the farmboy is paying dearly to tap this…

Marriage, is this something I am going to do again?? I don’t know for sure yet, BUT IF I DO – I know it will be for the right reasons and not because someone told me its the next move.. oh, and someone has to ask me first..Properly.
