Change = Bah! Humbug!

Between meetings, clients, my inbox, my to-do list, the kids, having to weigh my carrots and other bleak foodstuffs, coughing up a lung every half hour, throwing pom-poms around at all the MTB events supporting SexyG AND swearing at the toilet that insists on leaking EVERYTIME I turn my back.. there really hasn’t been much time for me lately.

BUT

I did manage to squeak in a few hours here and there when no-one was looking to unwrap my new toy! Now before everyone gets all porno on me like the lot in facebook, I am talking about the very much delayed arrival of my new cellular device SAMSUNG OMNIA ! (reasons for delay are too frustrating to talk about)

I was excited… I have only ever had Nokia phones since my first phone way back in ’94. So I am quite the  mamba with the Nokia OS and have been known to convince my old N95 to make coffee from time to time.. and if the truth be told the only reason why I moved away from Nokia is the need for something new and different to tangle with because I have hardly ever had a moments hassle with ANY of my previous cellphones.. in fact I have never had the need to even walk into a Nokia Service Centre at all in the past. Even after I gave my Nokia 3230 a swimming lesson, I opened it and dried it with silica bags and continued to use it for another year…BUt I digress..

The Omnia is VERY different and irritated me nonstop for days with all its stupid rules and kak.. I had to keep reminding myself that I just need to teach the phone to do what I want from it.. and finally after three days my patience paid off.

It now does what I want it to do and more.. IT IS AWESOME!!  I am using the transcriber in word to capture notes on the fly.. and flip through apps like a dream. The phone looks super sexy and has enough room for all my music and kak.And I am afraid to admit it, but I am addicted to Bubble Breaker *sigh*.

I have however made some oopses that I have to just shrug off.. such as I deleted 90% of my MSN contacts off Windows Live (OOPS!) and I have drunk dialed some peeps in an attempt to switch off my morning alarm (OOPS OOPS!!).. but these are learning times so bear with me…

If I had to have something to gripe about with the phone so far is that

a) the battery doesn’t last very long.

b) ActiveSync is faaaaaaaaaar too limited.

c) You need to kill tasks in Task Manager or they run in the background forever killing the already limited battery life… other than that.. COOL!

And before I go.. I have some exciting news to share with everyone.. but I will write about that later because the kids are whining for my attention again..
