Gushing, Blushing & a Shag…

I don’t celebrate the Valentines day as such really..

Not that I ever did really.. I wasn’t by any means the popular girl at school.. Now I am not saying I was a wallflower either.. But I was bored with the boys my age and they knew it. However, I did have the male teachers flirt with me from time to time but they don’t send Valentine’s cards now do they?

After I was done with school I had a few boyfriends and some of them took the effort but mostly it was a stupid day that was celebrated by the bubblegum girls and gifts were coerced from their boyfriends with all sexual favours withheld as punishment if the Teddy wasn’t big enough or the flowers weren’t bountiful enough.. and my drum was beating to a different tune.. I didn’t enforce the giving of gifts because it mean commitment.. and I was phobic

When I was married his idea of romance was sending me off to buy some KFC.. enough said there.

But since being with SexyG things have been different.. I never knew things could be this way.. I never knew any one person could care so much for another.. Romance took on a whole new meaning for me.

Its so weird getting spoilt and being made to feel totally loved and appreciated..

I almost feel uncomfortable with the whole thing. I don’t know how to react.. don’t know what to say.. So I normally look away and mumble something incoherent hiding my face so he doesn’t see the blush creeping in.. And then all I want to do is throw him down on the bed and have my way with him till he cant walk for a few days..just saying..

But I digress.. The real reason i don’t celebrate Valentines Day as such anymore is because it is my LoverVersary on the 10th February.

And I think its just stupid to do something again 4 days later…

We have known each other for more that 3 years. In fact, we initially met (very briefly) halfway through 2004 but our friendship only came about towards the end of 2004.. and our relationship went from being friends to great friends to lovers to soul mates and partners without missing a beat..It was all so seamless!

It is very difficult to say exactly when we crossed the line from being friends to more than friends (we have tried!) and after much soul searching and email checking and diary scanning we decided on a date that would be ours.. and the 10th February  won hands down.

I don’t want to gush too much guys..I understand how blegh all the gushy stuff can be and I think there is enough of that crap going around at the moment with the fat-bastard-wearing-the-nappy making people sillier than usual… but I do want to say a few things though, k?

I am surprised each day :-

- at the fact that he loves me..
- he actually wants to know what I am doing..
- he volunteers to cook..
- he holds me tight and tells me I beautiful..
- he laughs at my jokes..
- he rubs my feet most nights while we sit on the couch together..
- he kisses me good morning.. he kisses me goodnight..
- he holds me all night while we sleep..
- he buys me my favourite perfume when he sees I have run out..
- he takes me shopping and helps me in the change room..
– he looks after me when I don’t feel well..
- he tells me countless times a day how much he loves me..
- he respects and values my opinion..
- he makes me smile..

I love him.. And I am the luckiest girl in the whole world because he loves me too!

And on Tuesday, the 10th of February 2009, I will get to celebrate this fact with him, again.

Since its a week night it is difficult to really do anything too big but we will have a quiet dinner together at home. I had originally thought about doing a surprise thing.. but I mean.. how?

We work from a small office next to our home and it will be most awkwardly difficult to surprise him when he is right here.. maybe next year I will send him for meetings the whole day and do something for him then, lol!

So I will just surprise him in other ways then …
