It is always rough but at least my story has a happy ending.

I broke up with my last g/f because she was dishonest and way way too manipulative.

For my little story I would change paragraph 3 to read:

She is fine for awhile.. then the cracks start to show.. she starts to lie about little things, the little things get bigger. Eventually when she tells you about something or mentions something that happened to her, you roll your eyes back and switch off. You can’t pollute your head with her rubbish so you just nod and pretend to be interested. You support her for months while she jumps from job to job, sitting at home playing with Facebook instead of working at least as a waitress.

Paragraph 4 reads:

You catch her with hard drugs even though she is supposed to be clean for months (or if you believe what she has said, years). When she tells you stories or recounts events, you openly tell her she is talking sh*t or blatantly ignore her. When you end the relationship, you get told that you are totally amazing and that she can’t live without you.

Paragraph 5 would read:

You kick her out. She cries. She is devastated. She says she never saw it coming, even though you have been fighting for months and “working through issues with her”. You get phone calls at 23:00 with her crying her eyes out missing you and begging for her to come back. She had it good and you know it.

I would add a paragraph 6 to my story:

Then you go to a friends braai and start talking to some new faces. One of them takes you by the hand, pulls you closer and kisses you lingeringly on the lips. Suddenly things are all full of promise again. The hearts are on the sleeves again. There are smiles and butterflies in the air and you are convinced that this time things will be different (Again).
